The parent program is the heart of the methodology. It carefully guides and supports parents through the process of building a Safe House for their child. 

School

Teachers are such important members of a child's team! The educator program empowers teachers with the understanding, knowledge, and skills they need to create truly inclusive, neuro-affirming classrooms. 

With a focus on universal design and individualised adjustments for neurodivergent learners, the educators program is designed to help facilitate collaboration between education and health teams, with the aim of removing the barriers faced by autistic students. Safe House Schools™ takes the educators program to the next level with a whole school approach to inclusion.

Health Team

The health professional program is transdisciplinary, and flexible enough to be tailored to any role or work environment. 

The framework fits around team member's unique skill set - gently guiding, shaping, and nourishing the way they work with autistic children and their teams. 

Support Workers

The right support worker fits in like they've always been there, often becoming integral to a child's day-to-day life, and a key member of the team. 

The Support Worker Program is designed to foster an affirming mindset and equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to provide high quality support in collaboration with the team.

Meet Your Guide

Hello and welcome! My name is Valli. I am a clinical psychologist and autistic woman.

I am passionate about using my expertise and lived-experience to help parents, families, educators, and health professionals better support autistic children and young people.

The Safe House Framework is a fusion of my years of formal education and training, over a decade of working with neurodivergent folk, and most of all, the lived experience of designing my own safe house.

I know that if we work together, we can build a society where all children experience what it's like to feel understood.
